History

Universal Circuits was founded in 1968 as a dedicated circuit board manufacturing company. From the very beginning, the focus of the company has been the production of high-quality circuit boards in small-to-large lot sizes. The facility and production equipment has been structured around this concept, allowing UCI to provide circuit boards for the most demanding applications.

UCI has a long history of innovation to satisfy customer needs. For example, UCI was the first to develop a process to convert a three-piece printed circuit board design into a one piece, five-foot long printed circuit board. This new technology was developed for the U.S. Department of Defense, and has saved the military time as well as cost from inventory and purchasing expense.

Our attention to detail and customer service has allowed UCI to experience unprecedented growth during a time when many manufacturers have downsized. The company has grown 20 percent each year for the past five years, and in 2007 UCI expanded its plant and production capabilities to meet growing customer demands.
